Coming from a collaboration between Onoto Pens and St John’s Pens
Capturing the grandeur of the Oxford Divinity School. The Oxford University, Divinity Fountain Pen has a design that is both delicate and masterful. With a body made of precious, engraved, sterling silver, complimented by 23k gold fittings. Along with this, this pen has a nice amount of weight to it, whilst offering a comfortable hold.
Erected between 1423 and 1488 for lectures, oral exams and discussions on theology, the Divinity School has since been witness to changing ideas in society and culture, including the filming of Harry Potter.
The Divinity School directly inspires the pens decorative engraving. For instance, the barrel of the pen pays homage to the schools unique Tudor arches. Whilst the barrels’ arches are further accented by the cap of the pen. This part of the pen taking direct inspiration for the Divinity’s ceiling, showcasing this through the use of fan-vaults decorating the cap. These fan-vault engravings in particular replicating the infamous star-shaped lierne vaulted ceiling. Which is a part of the building which pays homage to the families and institutes that contributed to it’s foundation. With the star-shaped vault ceiling binding a total of 455 family and institutes crests together.
The Oxford University, Divinity Pen features a screw-style lid closure. Which not only protects the nib of the pen but also beautifully ties the barrel and cap’s engravings together. The pens nib itself is bicolour, size 8, 18k Gold Nib. Offering a writing experience that is unforgettable with it’s smooth and seamless writing.
The filling system is the newly improved Onoto Plunger Filler.
Coming from a collaboration between Onoto and St John’s Pens, Divinity Fountain Pen comes in a wooden, lacquered, presentation box. Containing a hand-written, Certificate of Authenticity which featuring the pens number. Along with a velvet pouch. As a result of this pen coming from a discontinued line, this pen will become sought after in years to come.
The first roll out of this pens was a sold out limited edition of 100 pens made for The Oxford University Divinity School, this is a limited edition run of 5 pens only and there are a few differences listed below:
1, Nib size is Bigger it has a size 8 nib gold nib, rather than the size 7 nib in the previous edition.
2, The filling system has been upgraded from a cartridge converter to the newly improved Onoto Plunge Filler.
3, The band has “Divinity” inscribed on it rather than “University of Oxford”
4, The top of the cap has the Onoto Logo on it, rather than the University of Oxford crest.
It is truly a work of art by Master Gold Smiths and Master Pen Makers.
This is a Heritage Pen made by hand in the United Kingdom.
