Montblanc Heritage Rouge et Noir Spider Metamorphosis Red Fountain Pen
The Rouge et Noir collection by Montblanc started in 1920, when the artist Zarastro designed a writing instrument with a spider's web motif. The following edition, among which the Serpent, became incredibly populair. Still, there are collectors worldwide who try to catch a vintage Rouge et Noir.
For centuries, the spider has been a symbol of poets and writers, who - just like spiders - create a magnificent sophisticated web out of nothing. Writing instruments in this collections thus form an ode to creativity. Like the name of the collection suggests, the writing instruments are available in the colours red and black. The name Rouge & Noir refers to a populair gambling game from the beginning of the 20th century, in which you would bet either on rouge (red) or noir (black) and win accordingly.
The barrel of the pen is made of red precious resin, and the fittings are champagne-tone gold coated. What makes this fountain pen so special is the gold coated spider on the clip - a true eye-catcher.
